Thanko's USB slippers…or mittens

Hot on the, uh, heels (come on, it's sooo there!) of the USB gloves come the USB slippers from none other than Thanko. Just plug 'em in for that toasty-good foot action. So the stage is now set: with your head, feet and hands tethered to your computer, Thanko is just a trojan release away from full control over your sorry meat-puppet self. Don't say we didn't warn ya!

There's no way that this could work well. The USB port specifications say that the USB port can supply less than 1 amp (in most cases, far less). The thin cable that is used certainly cannot safely handle any large amount of current either. How could these work?! Ohmic heating or thermocouples couldn't possibly explain this. Aliens maybe?
